"Death"

Death

I await for you in the shadows.
I await for you in the light.
I am always there, but never in sight.

When your baby is sleeping,
when your old mother is awake,
I am not choosy and care not who I take.

I may be a door to another life,
or an end to your existence;
you will never know, no matter what you study
or how much persistence.

You can not defeat me,
for I never partake in the war
I always win and that isn't just folklore.

I am the spoiler of dreams
and the maker of nightmares.
I will relieve you of all cares.

No matter the powers of your avoidance
You eventually will confront me
For I am everyone's destiny.
